Bia Brazil opens its first store in the United States

The activewear brand Bia Brazil is about to open the doors of its first United States store. The flagship will be located in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. The brand, which is a member of Texbrasil (The Internationalization Program of the Brazilian Textile and Fashion Industry) – the result of a partnership between Abit (Brazilian Textile and Apparel Industry Association) and Apex-Brasil (Brazilian Trade and Investment Promotion Agency) – operates in the country for 18 years. 

According to the brand’s founder, Beatriz Dockhorn, the decision of opening the store came from the fact that it is consolidated in the North-American market. Since 2003, Bia Brazil has a showroom in the city, and in 2019 it has inaugurated a similar room at a regional shopping center. The choice of place is also strategic, since, according to Bia, it is from there that the brand markets to the entire country and close islands. In addition to the store and showroom, the brand also operates online with a three-language website and resellers spread throughout the country. 

Created in Brazil’s southern region, the company also intends to open a store there as of March. Currently, apparel can be bought online or in multi-brand stores. 

Strategic Partnership

“To open a store in a country, we must have a partner that understands the local market”, the executive believes. It is by applying this philosophy that she intends, in the future, to open other stores in the country, but she remains focused on advertising the brand and increasing its customer range.

“Bia Brazil Activewear has been exporting for over 27 years and today we are present in over 65 countries”, the executive celebrates. In addition to the US, where the brand’s presence is strongest, Bia Brazil highlights its presence in countries such as Croatia, Lebanon, Portugal, Sweden, Finland, and Chile.
