Brazilian brands see great results from participation at Coterie

Texbrasil, the Brazilian Fashion Industry Internationalization Program, developed by Abit in partnership with Apex-Brasil (Brazilian Trade and Investment Promotion Agency), supported four Brazilian brands at Coterie, an American show for women’s apparel and accessories. Adriana Degreas, Clube Bossa, FARM and Lucidez showed their S/S ’17 collections at the event, which was held September 18 to 20, at the Javits Center, in New York. As a result, the companies did USD 500,000 in business, with sales of USD 2.8 million expected over the next 12 months.

For Elisa Tonietto, who is in charge of marketing at Lucidez, the brand achieved its goal of participating in the show: “we were able to find new customers and were satisfied with the result,” she says. FARM was at the event for the first time and, as a milestone in the Rio de Janeiro-based brand’s internationalization project, it was celebrating the positive results of Coterie: its stand was chosen one of the ten best at the show, which is attended by around 1,800 companies from around the world. “We set up a space filled with emotion, which really translated the brand’s lifestyle. FARM really did bring the Rio de Janeiro summer to Coterie. We were extremely happy with the repercussion and with everyone who visited and recognized our energy,” says the head of marketing, Taciana Abreu.

Adriana Degreas was also making a debut at the event, with new proposals in cuts for swimsuits and bikinis – such as off-the-shoulder tops – as well as in apparel – with lots of ruffles and cut-outs in fabrics like viscose and silk satin – in addition to tassels on sleeves and kimonos. The Dragoon, Chinoserie and Tapestry prints, which were reminiscent of Indochina, were another highlight. “We were able to show the brand to the biggest buyers from top boutiques in the USA and the world and Adriana Degreas was not just limited to a beachwear brand, but also came with a ready-to-wear proposal, since we have an entire lifestyle that goes beyond the beach,” says the brand’s designer and owner, who has dressed international influencers such as Kendall Jenner and currently has two showrooms in New York City.
