Digital edition of Inspiramais yields USD 500,000 in business for brands

11/10/2020

With the pandemic, the Inspiramais textile event, which takes place in São Paulo, had its first digital edition, which took place in August. Texbrasil (Brazilian Textile and Fashion Industry Internationalization Program) – the result of a partnership between Abit (The Brazilian Textile and Apparel Industry Association) and Apex-Brasil (Brazilian Export and Investment Promotion Agency) – invited seven international buyers to do business with the brands.

A total of 39 meetings were held, which resulted in USD 140,000 in business at the event, in addition to a forecast of USD 477,000 for the next 12 months.

For three days, representatives of retailers Cornejotex (Ecuador), Rondina (Paraguay), Lemon (Uruguay), Formit and Johanna Ortiz (Colombia) participated in rounds with the 11 brands of the Program present at the event. They are: Lunelli, Macias Têxtil, RVB, Rhodia, Kirimure, Innovativ, Sancris, Castanhal, Ecosimple, Hi Etiquetas and Audaces

“It is important not to lose the connection with the international market at this time when we are distant. That’s why digital actions like this are necessary, not only to foster new business but to continue placing the Brazilian fashion, always innovative, in contact with the international market”, says Texbrasil executive manager, Lilian Kaddissi.

It was the first time that the event happened in a digital way and, despite not having physical contact, the brands still had the opportunity to do new business. For buyers, the experience was also beneficial and, even with the current restrictions, keeping in touch with new suppliers is important to renew their stocks.

The next edition of Inspiramais takes place in January 2021 and, following the previous version, it should happen online again.
