Fabiana Milazzo launches Summer 2017 and Lace Women capsule collections

08/30/2016

Last Tuesday (August 23), designer Fabiana Milazzo launched her Summer 2017 collection and her “Lace Women” capsule collection, a project created and developed by the designer in partnership with the Acao Moradia NGO, aimed at helping socially vulnerable families in one of the most impoverished neighborhoods in Uberlandia (MG), Grande Morumbi.

The idea for the project came after participating in sustainability consulting done by Fundacao Vanzolini in partnership with Texbrasil, the Brazilian Fashion Industry Internationalization Program, developed by Abit in partnership with Apex-Brasil (Brazilian Trade and Investment Promotion Agency).

For S/S 2017, the designer did in-depth research on the world of grunge and joined the rebellion of the movement with its characteristic romanticism. The junction of the two worlds results in delicate items in pastel tones with embroidery, lace and pearls, which join a destroyed look, with plaid shirts and frayed finishes. Fabiana Milazzo‘s biggest bet for the season is underwear as the main clothing item – with the highlight being lingerie made of Canatiba‘s Avangard Beauty Denim, with its anti-cellulite properties, giving looks a touch of rebellion.

Another high point of the collection is jeans items with weaves that recall plaid and come with the eco-sustainable item tag. In addition to the fabrication characteristics of the denim, which comes from reforested wood, stripes were made using scraps, preventing material from being thrown away. All jeans items are the result of a partnership with Canatiba Denim Industry through the Canatiba Lab project.
