Fabiana Milazzo opens its first international store in Los Angeles

Designer Fabiana Milazzo will be busy during the first half of 2017. The Minas Gerais native has chosen the city of Los Angeles, California (U.S.A.) as the location for her first store abroad, opening in February. And to celebrate this great time for the label, in March, Fabiana – who is a member of Texbrasil, the Brazilian Textile and Fashion Industry Internationalization Program, developed by Abit in partnership with Apex-Brasil (Brazilian Trade and Investment Promotion Agency) – will show a collection at Sao Paulo Fashion Week for the first time.

“Considering the current moment at the company, we felt that it was time to invest in internationalizing the brand, carving out our space in the American market. After a lot of research and analysis, we decided to open the first store in the United States, which has seen a good upturn in luxury market growth, with the trend being towards remaining that way,” says Renata Horta, who is in charge of the import/export area. The store will open its doors with the S/S 2017 collection on racks, but it will have an exclusive preview corner in LA for the F/W 2017 commercial collection.

The designer chose the charming Melrose Place for the first store, a haven for major fashion brands, in addition to cafes, restaurants, bookshops and a fervent cultural scene. Among “neighbors” are brands such as Bottega Veneta, Oscar de la Renta, Marc Jacobs, Chloe and Monique Lhuiller. “The city of Los Angeles has a more open society, with lots of parties and awards shows being held that are attended by influential people and tastemakers, such as Hollywood actresses. We identified the presence of people that value handmade goods, which is one of our main features; this will likely call attention to the brand’s proposal and to our products,” adds Renata.

The layout of the new 130 sqm space will be designed by interior designer Leticia Nobell, who has done major upscale commercial projects in Brazil and abroad. In addition to Los Angeles, Fabiana Milazzo is sold at over 90 points in Brazil and at the brand’s stores in Sao Paulo and Uberlandia, in addition at select multibrand stores around the world.
