Farm supports indigenous tribe in new partnership with Pantys

The Rio de Janeiro Farm brand, a participant of Texbrasil (Brazilian Textile and Fashion Industry Internationalization Program) – the result of a partnership between Abit (Brazilian Textile and Apparel Industry Association) and Apex-Brasil (Brazilian Trade and Investment Promotion Agency) – has launched a new partnership with the absorbent panties manufacturer Pantys.

Farm developed models of prints that were applied to Pantys’ pieces, inspired by the Yawanawa indigenous people. With the launch, the brands also came together to donate 400 panties to the indigenous women. The piece has biodegradable and antimicrobial fabric with odor blocker, high absorption capacity and durability of approximately two years or 50 washes.

“In addition to the collections we have co-created, we support the digital inclusion project that includes internet installation in all Yawanawa tribes. We have created a relationship of partnership, deep friendship and dialogue with these women,” explains Katia Barros, creative director of Farm

Pantys also highlights the sustainable factor of its pieces, since it replaces disposable absorbent methods. The environmental impact is considerable: during her life, a woman has on average 450 menstrual cycles, and uses around 180 absorbents. “With Pantys’ panties, the amount of waste generated by disposal can be significantly reduced. And, of course, financial savings in relation to spending on disposable absorbents,” says Maria Eduarda Camargo, co-founder of the brand.

The piece has limited edition and is sold in the e-commerce of the brands.
