Fashion Rio: international journalists check out the A/W edition

11/12/2012

The 22nd edition of Fashion Rio ended last Friday (9), entering a new phase for the Brazilian fashion market, which now anticipates the release of the A/W collection to October/November and the S/S collection to March/April.  Texbrasil (Brazilian Fashion Industry Export Program), developed by Abit in partnership with Apex-Brasil (Brazilian Trade and Investment Promotion Agency), attended the event bringing 15 international journalists.

The list included Elisabeta Tudor and Regis Colin, of Standard and Now Fashion magazines, and Remi Kuzniewski, of Le Monde, from France, plus Tommaso Palazzi and Marta Casadei, of ClassTV and Vogue respectively, from Italy, and Helen Jennings, of The Guardian, from England.  Alessa brand, participant of the Program, paraded on the first day, with a “black colored” concept, with color symbolizing the unknown.

To Camila Toledo, director of trends at StyleSight, which was also part of the group, Fashion Rio brought technological innovations. “We had brands concerned with concepts and showing parades full of fabric technology and new paths for Brazilian fashion”, she said. She also reviewed the trends: “I felt that we are aligned with the international calendar, speaking the same language in terms of color chart and shapes.  This only comes to contribute to the sales of ‘desired-pieces’”.

The next edition of Fashion Rio takes place from 22 to 26 of March 2013.
