Surf Expo began its most recent edition last Thursday (09th) with the participation of two companies supported by Texbrasil (Brazilian Textile and Fashion Industry Internationalization Program) — the result of a partnership between Abit (Brazilian Textile and Apparel Industry Association) and Apex-Brasil (Brazilian Exports and Investments Promotion Agency).

The event, which takes place in Orlando, Florida (USA), will be attended by the beachwear brands Guria and Rio de Sol. The trade show takes place until next Saturday (11th) with a focus on retailers.

This is the second time brands from the Program attend the event, expanding the range of opportunities for companies of an industry that wants to expand their market in the country.

According to the executive manager of Texbrasil, Lilian Kaddissi, the North American beachwear market has great potential for Brazilian brands. “In 2020, the US was the second-largest consumer of swimwear in the world. As for 2021, there is an expected growth of 16% in retail sales in the country. As a result, retailers are more optimistic and looking out for new suppliers to expand their business”, she explains.

In addition to beachwear, the event also includes fitness and resortwear, and welcomes buyers from specialty stores in the United States, the Caribbean, Central and South America, and around the world.
