The latest Brazilian home fabrics are introduced at Heimtextil 2019

01/09/2019

From January 8 to 11, the city of Frankfurt, Germany brings together major international brands in the home fabrics segment during Heimtextil. Four Brazilian companies that are members of Texbrasil (Brazilian Textile and Fashion Industry Internationalization Program) – held through a partnership between (Brazilian Trade and Investment Promotion Agency) and (Brazilian Textile and Apparel Industry Association) – were at the show: DöhlerCamesaJ.Têxtil Serrano and Belchior Cortinas.

The companies are showing their latest launches at the traditional German trade show, which has been held since 1971 and serves as a bellwether for trends in the segment, bringing in 70,000 visitors annually. At this edition, the theme of the newly tweaked innovation expo is utopia. The question that the installation is trying to answer is: “What is my utopia?”

To do this, attendees visit five interactive scenarios designed by renowned studios, such as Seung Jim Yang, headquartered in Seoul, with new living concepts. Among these, futuristic reinterpretations mix art deco and modernism, and there is a space with design objects inspired by textiles found in outdoor areas and heavy-duty work clothes.

Lilian Kaddissi, the Program’s Executive Manager, talked about the event’s importance to the home fabrics segment. “Heimtextil is the biggest event in the world in this industry. This is the time for buyers, representatives and specialists in trends to meet, make contacts and do business. There are four days filled with opportunities, which is why we have such high expectations.
