Haco Etiquetas is on the cover of the special edition of Vogue Portugal
Haco, a Brazilian tag brand, was chosen to print the cover of the special edition of Vogue Portugal. With the theme “Hope”, the edition makes reference to a more sustainable world.
The company, which is part of Texbrasil, (Internationalization Program of the Brazilian Textile and Fashion Industry) – the result of a partnership between Abit (Brazilian Textile and Apparel Industry Association) and Apex-Brasil (Brazilian Trade and Investment Promotion Agency) -, opted for a 100% recycled polyester model.
“Vogue Portugal’s editorial team was in a process of searching for companies that have ecologically correct and sustainable solutions, and got in touch through our website,” explains Bruno Brandão, the brand’s marketing, export and market intelligence manager.
The model that appears in Vogue is, according to Bruno, one of the brand’s flagships when it comes to sustainability. The piece has recycled fibers both in the warp and in the weft. Original from the Asian continent, the thread used in the piece is produced from the recycling process of pet bottles from the industry.
In addition, the item has a wide range of uses, such as in soccer shirt coats of arms.
Haco produces more than 6 billion tags per year in its four plants: two in the South of Brazil, one in the Northeast. The fourth plant is located in Covilhã, Portugal, and for almost 20 years has been serving the European market. Ans it’s also the unit in which the tag used in the Vogue cover was manufactured.
Hope
The magazine believes in the theme “Hope” to debate actions that can change the direction of the planet, offering more hope for the next generations. For Bruno, this concept also permeates Haco’s work.
“Being sustainable means meeting the needs of customers without compromising the evolution of future generations, maintaining the balance between economic, social and ecological development. In this premise, Haco’s work is based on the responsible use of resources, guaranteeing the safety of people and the environment”, comments the executive.
That’s why, besides the models that are already commercialized, the brand plans the launch of new ecologically correct items and with sustainable raw materials. A new collection, scheduled for October, includes cotton tags, recycled paper tags and recycled leather decorative tags.
