Karin Feller joins AFTERCOLOR for exclusive capsule collection

It is impossible to talk about summer and not think about levity, colors and movement. For AFTERCOLOR, this is also what represents the season and there is nothing better than transporting these elements to clothes. With this in mind, the brand joined designer Karin Feller to present an inspired capsule collection. The designer, who won first place in the Ponto Zero Contest (currently the BtoBe contest) in 2008 and who today has showrooms in New York and Japan, is a member of Texbrasil, the Brazilian Textile and Fashion Industry Internationalization Program, the result of a partnership between Abit and Apex-Brasil (Brazilian Trade and Investment Promotion Agency).

“Together we came up with a fresh and beautiful theme, which took us to Ilhabela. We tried to bring elements of beauty and sophistication to the collection, all watercolored on prints and matched with practical and comfortable cuts,” says Karin. Many Brazilians are sure to travel to the island, whose archipelagos and Atlantic forest are the perfect backdrop for translating summer. One of the families in the collection features orchids, which can be seen in vast quantities in the city of Ilhabela at an annual expo. A long dress with slit, puffy-sleeved chemise and midi dress with a ’70s feel, ruffled off-the-shoulder top and midi skirt make up the family, which comes in two tones – day and night.

“All of the pieces are flowing and light, for use during summer travels. Whether at a resort, a beach or even on outings with casual looks, the clothing is supposed to be versatile,” say the sisters and partners at Aftercolor. At the same time monstera plant – or Adam’s rib, as it is popularly known in Brazil – decorates a family of pieces that travel from the beach to the city, such as a dress, shorts and a kimono that can also be used as a cover-up. Boat rides and a fishing village are also notable characteristics for those visiting the region. So rope prints in tones of serenity blue, off-white and rose quartz give the other family a navy feel, with a playsuit, kimono, short dress and long skirt.

The collection is limited and is available across Brazil online at www.aftercolor.com.br
