Premiere Vision NY: Savyon, Berlan and Dash Studio expect USD 1.5 million in business
The year started with participation by three member companies of Texbrasil (Brazilian Textile and Fashion Industry Internationalization Program) — developed by Abit in partnership with Apex-Brasil (Brazilian Trade and Investment Promotion Agency) – at the American edition of traditional French show Premiere Vision. The event was held in New York, in the USA, on January 15 and 16, and was attended by the Brazilian companies Dash Studio, Berlan and Savyon. Together, they did USD 62,400 in business over the two days and expect to take in another USD 1.5 million over the next 12 months.
Premiere Vision New York is the first chance in the year for exhibitors to introduce their launches to the North American market. The show forecasts trends for the S/S season for the public, gathering around 2700 and 250 exhibitors at this edition.
This was print studio Dash Studio’s first time at PV NY. According to its Creative Director, Rafael Antônio dos Santos, the experience was very positive, for business as well as for establishing new contacts.
“We were used to the PV Paris dynamic, which we usually attend. That is why we were really prepared for this new challenge: we carried out extensive market research and set up a collection designed for this public,” he explains. He also added that “even so, we had feedback from buyers during the event, which was essential for us to really understand the public, which likes clean and minimalist prints. It was definitely very important to our internationalization strategy to take part in this edition.”
The Brazilian Textile and Fashion Industry Internationalization Program (Texbrasil) works with textile and apparel industry companies to develop strategies for success in the global market. Over nearly 20 years, it has helped around 1500 brands to enter the export market, bringing in USD 3.6 billion in business. The Program is conducted by Abit in partnership with the Brazilian Trade and Investment Promotion Agency (Apex-Brasil).
