Sol Sports presents S/S collection at Coupe Icare, an aerial sports event
Coupe Icare, the world’s largest aerial sports festival, is being held from September 19 to 22. Sol Sports, an apparel company working with outdoor activities, is attending for the 20th year in a row with the support of Texbrasil (Brazilian Textile and Fashion Industry Internationalization Program) – held through a partnership between Apex-Brasil (Brazilian Trade and Investment Promotion Agency) and Abit(Brazilian Textile and Apparel Industry Association).
The mega event is bringing together the entire air sports community in the French Alps, near the city of Grenoble. The event is truly a party, in addition to showing aerial sports products to international buyers. Attractions include an Aerial Carnival, film festival, flight demonstrations and more, aimed at people interested in sports such as snowboarding, climbing, hiking, hang gliding and paragliding.
Sol Sports is bringing technological pieces from its S/S to the event. The highlight is water-repellant items, made using Rhodia yarns. According to Ary Carlos Pradi, a founding partner and currently the Director of Sol Sports, the brand is the first to use Emana in menswear production. This smart fiber has ray technology that converts human heat, benefitting the skin and sports performance.
“It’s a major moment. The event gathers 100,000 people and 90% of our public is from Europe, a significant target market for us. We see huge adherence on the biking apparel side. Another bet is on the water-repellant clothing trend, one of the strongest technologies in the market,” Ary explains.
In addition to its apparel line, Sol is also presenting its Sol Paragliders products, making paragliders for the last 26 years, with representatives in more than 50 countries.
The company is also investing in two image actions during the Coupe Icare. The first is a virtual flight simulator that is open to the public. Brazilian technology will be at the Sol stand. The second is a flight demo by the company, which will take place during the show.
