Texbrasil invites a group of international journalists and buyers to Minas Trend



From April 8 to 12, an international group of three journalists and three buyers will be in the country at the invitation of Texbrasil (Brazilian Textile and Fashion Industry Internationalization Program) – carried out through a partnership between Apex-Brasil (Brazilian Trade and Investment Promotion Agency) and Abit (Brazilian Textile and Apparel Industry Association). They will be in the city of Belo Horizonte on a business agenda and to visit the Minas Trend fashion event. The group includes Ivan Castaño, of US-based Forbes magazine; Carina Oviedo, with Paraguay’s La Nación newspaper; Patuska Knezvich, with Publimetro Peru; the British buyer Zhane Amoi, of Blaiz boutique, the french buyer from Tiffany’s Boutique, Tiffany MacCall and the  uruguayan Daniela Dahmer, from  Karech Internacional.

During the business trip, the guests will be taking part in meetings with the Tutta, Skazi and Patbo stores, all of which are Program members. In addition to these visits, they will see work by other Texbrasil brands at the trade show and at the fashion shows for the S/S edition of the Minas Trend event, the theme of which for this season is “On Sunny Days.”

The theme celebrates cultural diversity, the democracy of fashion and optimism. Ronaldo Fraga, a designer who is once again serving as the Creative Director of the event, which is organized by FIEMG (Federation of Industries of the State of Minas Gerais), talked a bit about this edition. “Fashion has always moved down the path of the future, like a light at the end of the tunnel, and this is why we thought of this topic: Sunny Days.”

And he adds that “what we want are days of oxygen, vacation, relaxation and romance. It will be four days of beaches in Belo Horizonte. There will be sea, sand; all of the scenography was created based on this.”

Lilian Kadissi, Executive Manager of Texbrasil, says that Minas Trend is a hub for business in the state of Minas Gerais. “The event brings together an excellent selection of apparel brands. The international group we are bringing to this edition includes guests from strategic target markets for Brazilian exports and they will certainly benefit from the event’s ecosystem and the external meetings we are planning,” she explains.
