International journalists take part in Dragao Fashion Brasil 2016
Eight international journalists are attending the 2016 edition of Dragao Fashion Brasil, being held from May 4 to 7, at the Maritime Passenger Terminal in Fortaleza, Ceara, at the invitation of Texbrasil, the Brazilian Fashion Industry Internationalization Program, developed by Abit in partnership with Apex-Brasil (Brazilian Trade and Investment Promotion Agency). The theme for DFB 2016 is “Latin Blood” and it will highlight a country with a consolidated textile industry that is hugely important to the international economy in this segment: Colombia.
Lizzy Bowring (WGSN England), and Colombia’s Monica Garzon (Publimetro Newspaper), Paola Guevara (El País Newspaper), Sergio Villamizar (Colprensa News Agency), Nicolas Bustamante (Carrusel Magazine), Beatriz Arango (Cromos Magazine) and Jaime Rosa and Cristina Hurtado (both from NTN News) are the guests that will be in Brazil doing fashion editorials and providing exclusive coverage of the event.
The Brazil-Colombia connection is responsible for the new features that will be at the event’s 17th edition, such as “One on One,” a project bringing the I International Fashion, Culture and Development Seminar to the DFP, within the Dragao Thinking Fashion (Dragao Pensando Moda or DPM, its acronym in Portuguese) program; a fashion show by Colombian label Lenerd; and the “Arts and Crafts of Colombia” exhibition, showing fashion and design items made by Colombian creators.
Over four days, DFB will feature 32 original fashion shows from 22 Brazilian designers and high-profile guests from neighboring countries, in addition to eight press conferences to promote fashion shows by reference projects supported by the event, such as the “New Designers Contest” (Concurso dos Novos) and “Fashion Community” (Comunidade Moda).
The line-up includes: participation by the Texbrasil Bikini Society (CE), Almerinda Maia (CE), Andre Sampaio (CE), Babado Coletivo (CE), David Lee (CE), Doiselles (MG), Gil Braga (CE), Gisela Franck (CE), Iury Costa (CE), Ivanildo Nunes (CE), Joao Paulo Guedes (CAN), Kalil Nepomuceno (CE), Lenerd (COL), Lindeberg Fernandes (CE), Lizzi (PR), Mark Greiner (CE), Pena Conceito (CE), Rebeca Sampaio (CE), Rio de Jas (CE), Ronaldo Silvestre (MG), Jeferson Ribeiro (BA) and Weider Silveiro (SP).
