High-end beachwear by Adriana Degreas now sold in over 30 countries
The United States, France, the United Kingdom, Germany, Portugal, Norway, Russia, the United Arab Emirates, Chile, Japan, Taiwan, Turkey, and Australia are just some of the over 30 countries where Adriana Degreas brand items can be found. Having begun the internationalization process in 2005 – through participation in trade shows in the cities of Paris, Dubai, Tokyo, Miami and Los Angeles – the Brazilian label further increased its market share abroad starting in 2010, when it joined Texbrasil, the Brazilian Fashion Industry Internationalization Program, developed by Abit in partnership with Apex-Brasil (Brazilian Trade and Investment Promotion Agency).
“We are projecting growth of 20% in the export channel for 2016. Our goal is to be a benchmark in the high-end beachwear segment in the next five years, establishing selective distribution and positioning the brand among the world’s biggest players in premium retail and online fashion stores, in addition to opening proprietary points of sale,” says Alexandre Cobra, the company’s CEO. He will be one of the speakers at the Abit Congress, where he will take part in the “Internationalization” panel, discussing outlooks for Brazilian brands in the international market. The event will take place in São Paulo on June 1 and 2.
According to the executive, the exchange rate favoring foreign sales has contributed to the company’s good performance. “Our growth in retail and in Brazilian wholesale along with the matter of the exchange rate favoring exports were determining factors in deciding to increase our investments in opening up new customers and publicizing the label on the international market,” he says. Exports accounted for 13% of the company’s overall revenue in 2015, twice as much as in 2014.
Adriana Degreas has been growing its position in the high-end beachwear market since 2011 by partnering with a showroom in New York, in the USA. “Starting in 2013, we intensified investments geared towards the brand’s internationalization in Europe through the Texbrasil Program,” says Alexandre Cobra.
