From July 6 to 10, in Nova Friburgo (RJ), the 26th edition of Fevest (Underwear, Beachwear, Fitnesswear and Raw Materials Trade Show) was held, featuring launches from this production center for S/S 2017. The event, which had a new ‘Festival’ format for this edition – including talk shows, fashion shows, trends, the latest in the industry and social actions – welcomed around 100 exhibitors including apparel manufacturers and suppliers. It was also attended by seven member brands of Texbrasil, the Brazilian Fashion Industry Internationalization Program, developed by Abit in partnership with Apex-Brasil (Brazilian Trade and Investment Promotion Agency): CCM, Lucitex, Sapeka, Delfa, Terlizzi, Zanotti and De Chelles.

The brands welcomed Francesco Quartulli, of Quartulli Milano (Italy), and Perla Caballero, of Astro (Paraguay), two international buyers at the show at the Program’s invitation, who were in the country to learn about the newest launches in Brazilian fashion at the show. As a result, the companies expect to see sales of USD 515,000. “We made contacts and started business with new customers, in addition to seeing old customers again and renewing partnerships, as well as serving buyers from countries such as Italy, Paraguay and the USA,” said Felipe Bortolotti, who is in charge of international business at Sapeka Lingerie.

Fevest 2016 also had a new edition of the Senai Fashion Space New Talent project and a talk was held by André Carvalhal, one of the founders of Malha, a collaborative fashion space being created in Rio de Janeiro. “The show was very busy; in addition to merchants from southeastern Brazil, we met with customers from Rio Grande do Sul up to Sergipe and Roraima. We were able to finalize business and this was very important. We feel that the economy wants to react and Fevest initiatives really helped the industry,” Felipe adds.
