2017 starts with international business for Brazilian companies
The year started off with a bang for the Belchior, Teka and Sauipe Swimwear companies, all of which are members of Texbrasil – the Brazilian Textile and Fashion Industry Internationalization Program, developed by Abit in partnership with Apex-Brasil (Brazilian Trade and Investment Promotion Agency). The Brazilian brands are taking part in major international events that kick off the 2017 calendar: while Teka and Belchior will be at Heimtextil, a traditional home textiles show taking place January 10 to 13 in Frankfurt (Germany), Sauipe is once again showing at Swim Collective, a beachwear event that takes place January 13 and 14 in California (U.S.A.).
According to Marcia Hacker, co-founder of Sauipe, increased consumer confidence in North America, as a result of the outlooks of economic changes and the new government taking power, could leverage the company’s sales at the event. “We believe that this will reflect in confidence from storeowners, with better sales for them as well as for us, the suppliers,” she says. The swimwear brand also hopes to especially grow sales to hotels and resorts, as well as to smaller stores.
