This month, seven Brazilian companies took part in two major beachwear and fitnesswear trade fairs on the American West Coast, in Huntington Beach, California (USA): Swim Collective, held July 11 to12, and Active Collective, held July 17 to 18.

With the support of Texbrasil – Brazilian Textile and Fashion Industry Internationalization Program, the result of a partnership between Abit and Apex-Brasil  (Brazilian Trade and Investment Promotion Agency) – the brands DespiGuria BeachwearKalimoLiquido ActiveMare BluSol & Energia and Verde Limao had a turnover of USD 147,000 during the events, with expectations of USD 1.25 million in sales over the next 12 months.

Kalimo, a textile design studio which participated in both trade fairs, adapted some of its products to the reality of the local market, with the development of a special color chart for the international costumers. “It is part of our internationalization plan to invest in opportunities that bring good contacts and business to the company, especially in this initial stage of market insertion. Swim and Active Collective trade fairs are part of this range of opportunities that Kalimo intends to continue investing”, said the export manager Talita Khalifeh.

For Renata Facchini, CEO of Liquido Active, the public received the news of the brand’s Fall/Winter 2017 collection in Active Collective very well. “We are already in our third year at the show, now customers already know us and feel we are a solid brand. I think this edition has been the best so far and we are very optimistic about the results”, said Renata. She also said that the company has made good contacts with international clients, especially Japan and the Cayman Islands.

The next editions of Swim & Active Collective will take place in January 2018.
