Première Vision NY shows the latest from Brazilian companies
From January 13 to 14, New York City will host the first 2015 edition of Premiere Vision New York, a showroom that gathers international exhibitors in the textile, supplies and printing segments. With 322 companies taking part and over 4,000 expected to attend, PVNY is the first event on the international calendar, known for being a preview of the trends that will be seen during the year.
Texbrasil (Brazilian Fashion Industry Internationalization Program, developed by Abit in partnership with Apex-Brasil) is supporting attendance by design studios Caju Collective and 02 Gatos as well as by the Savyon fabric company. Patricia Bomeny, a textile designer, and Gustavo Prado, a graphic artist, are behind Caju. Both have experience with illustration and work today for labels such as Sacada, Dress to. and Maria Filo.
Daniel Bo and Flo Monti make up 02 Gatos. In addition to having done projects for Kate Spade, Macy’s and Calvin Klein, they have also launched their own products. Savyon is a Brazilian company that makes knit fabrics and serves beachwear, underwear and sportswear makers, among others.
The last S/S edition of PVNY was held last January and generated USD 70,000 in business, with USD 884,000 expected in the following months.
