08/18/2025

With the support of Texbrasil (the Brazilian Textile and Fashion Industry Internationalization Program), a partnership between Abit (Brazilian Textile and Apparel Industry Association) and ApexBrasil (Brazilian Trade and Investment Promotion Agency), Brazil successfully took part in Colombiamoda, receiving positive feedback from the international audience.

Held from July 29th to 31st in Medellín, Colombia, the main trade show in Latin America had as its central theme “Co-creation that Inspires,” highlighting collaboration as a development factor for the industry. In line with this concept, Brazilian brands showcased collections that reflect both identity and personality.

Brazil was represented by 11 brands from the apparel industry, selected and supported by Texbrasil. The objective of the event was to expand commercial opportunities in the Latin American market and contribute to the strengthening of Brazilian fashion on the international stage.

Over the three-day event, Brazilian companies established 311 business contacts, generating USD 225,000 in immediate deals and an expected USD 1.09 million in future negotiations. These numbers reflect Colombiamoda’s potential as a space for generating business and visibility for the industry.

“Colombiamoda has been an important opportunity to expand business connections and showcase the diversity of Brazilian fashion in a market with strong cultural affinity. The Brazilian brands taking part in the event, is the result of joint preparation and monitoring efforts that we have continued throughout the program’s cycle”, emphasized Letícia Kamei, from Texbrasil’s Trade Promotion department.

Participating companies also highlighted the positive impacts of the initiative:

Colombia has proven to be a relevant market for Brazilian companies in the textile and apparel industry, with a strategic location and a consolidated production chain. Medellín, home to Colombiamoda, also hosts Colombiatex de las Américas, which takes place annually in January in the same venue, Plaza Mayor.

While Colombiamoda focuses on apparel and designer brands, Colombiatex centers on the textile and accessories industries, bringing together suppliers and buyers from various countries in the region. The next edition will be held in January 2026, and Texbrasil has already begun preparations to take part in the next Colombiamoda with a focus on B2B business.

Registration for companies wishing to take part will open soon. Stay tuned to the program’s official channels for updates.

Before the trade show, Texbrasil also provided strategic preparation for participating companies, providing marketing guidance, trade promotion, and technical support. Support continues post-event, focusing on consolidating the opportunities created during the event.
