Texbrasil takes part in Heimtextil Frankfurt 2026
Texbrasil (The Brazilian Textile and Fashion Industry Internationalization Program), a partnership between Abit (Brazilian Textile and Apparel Industry Association) and ApexBrasil (Brazilian Trade and Investment Promotion Agency), took part in Heimtextil Frankfurt, held from January 14 to 17, 2026, in Frankfurt, Germany.
Regarded as the leading international event for home textiles, bed, bath, table, decor, and interior design, the trade show takes place in one of the world’s most significant markets for the textile industry.
The Brazilian delegation was represented by the studios Atelier Lucius Vilar and Balz Studio, which showcased their portfolios to international buyers throughout the four-day event. The participation resulted in 22 business contacts with international buyers. Between immediate sales and projections for the next 12 months, business deals are estimated at approximately US$ 26,800.
“Taking part in Heimtextil means sharing a piece of Atelier Lucius Vilar with the world. Our prints are born from deep and sensitive research into Brazilian botany and flora. We explore different techniques, shapes, colors, and textures from Brazil’s nature to create prints that tell stories, value our identity, and transform natural references into surfaces full of meaning. Being at the trade show reaffirms our connection to our roots,” says Lucius Vilar, creative director of the Atelier.
For Heloise Balzano Pierrotti, owner and creative coordinator of Balz Studio, taking part in Heimtextil represented a major step in the brand’s internationalization process. “Our debut at the trade show was fundamental to understanding how our design is received in the global market and to establishing high-quality connections. We engaged with buyers from various countries, which boosted the studio’s visibility. Abit’s support was essential in making our participation viable and strengthening Balz’s presence on the international stage,” she states.
Germany is the world’s third-largest economy, with an estimated GDP of US$4.7 trillion in 2024, a population of 83.6 million, and high purchasing power. Germany imported about US$ 50.7 billion in textiles and apparel last year, including approximately US$ 2.3 billion in home textiles, solidifying its position as a strategic destination for international suppliers in this segment.
