Creation by Brazilian designer Alessa reaches the 2026 Oscars red carpet

The red carpet at the 2026 Oscars featured a creation by Brazilian designer Alessa Migani, founder of the brand Alessa, a participant in Texbrasil (the Brazilian Textile and Fashion Industry Internationalization Program), a partnership between Abit (Brazilian Textile and Apparel Industry Association) and ApexBrasil (Brazilian Trade and Investment Promotion Agency). The look was a dress from the “Cariocaholic” collection, inspired by Rio de Janeiro, worn by Brazilian Carla Firme during the event on Sunday, March 15.
The collection draws inspiration from the “Marvelous City” and has already been presented in different settings. The runway show took place at Christ the Redeemer and later traveled to Paris, at Le Grand Palais, and to Milan, as part of the brand’s international agenda.
The piece chosen for the Oscars, described as a “Silver Pleated Dress,” was developed using the soleil pleating technique, designed to reflect light and movement. According to the designer, the model engages with visual elements of Rio’s landscape and the idea of reflection. “At the Oscars, it reflects all the creativity, boldness, and sophistication of a grand country full of courage and entrepreneurship in both cinema and fashion,” says Alessa.
The brand’s participation in the event is part of its international trajectory, which includes presence in retail and initiatives across different markets, including stores such as Selfridges in London and Galeries Lafayette in Paris, as well as trade fairs and platforms focused on the fashion sector.

Founded in 2002, the brand began with the creation of the “Casa da Alessa” in Ipanema, combining an atelier and creative space. With a degree in design from Central Saint Martins in London, the designer develops collections marked by the use of Brazilian references, humor, and aesthetic experimentation.
Throughout its trajectory, the brand has also stood out for staging runway shows in unconventional spaces, such as Sugarloaf Mountain and the Copacabana Palace, as well as in urban and everyday environments.
Currently, the Alessa brand is present in multi-brand stores in Brazil and abroad, with distribution in different countries. Pieces from the “Cariocaholic” collection are available at the brand’s own store in Ipanema, Rio de Janeiro, and at international points of sale, including Paris.
