“Jersey 10: fashion & soccer” exhibit comes to Brazil
After a stint in Milan, during the International Furniture Show, the “Jersey 10: Fashion & Soccer” exhibit is coming to Sao Paulo on May 13 and will be shown in the state’s capital city until May 20. The exhibit’s launch on Brazilian soil is taking place at Arezzo’s flagship store, on Rua Oscar Freire. From Sao Paulo, the exhibit will continue on to Minas Gerais. Curated by Tereza Santos, 11 Brazilian labels and designers reinterpreted the national soccer team’s iconic number 10 jersey.
Member brands of Texbrasil (Brazilian Fashion Industry Internationalization Program, developed by Abit in partnership with Apex-Brasil) developed creations inspired by the Brazilian team’s classic number 10 jersey: Patricia Bonaldi, Alessa, Vivaz, Gig, Helen Rodel, Dudalina, Lucas Magalhaes, Renan Serrano, Blue Man and Patricia Motta. The group also includes designer Tete Rezende.
The most notable features of the brands can be seen in their work. While Patricia Bonaldi and Vivaz gave their designs a luxurious touch using stones and textures, Blue Man lent its tropical prints to the jersey and Patricia Motta’s design featured ample leather, a material that is a mainstay of her collections. Renan Serrano’s TrendT did a typical minimalist style for its jersey.
