WGSN holds lecture on Information Utopia
With the support of Texbrasil (Brazilian Fashion Industry Internationalization Program, developed by Abit in partnership with Apex-Brasil),WGSN, the top fashion trends bureau, held talks on April 1 and 2 on the subject of Information Utopia. At the time, three macro trends were discussed for F/W 2015/16, based on the website’s research and studies.
Macro trends shown to participants included: data divination, social superheroes, and everyday utopias. All relate to fashion and style through a search for happiness, balance and quality of life based on actions of a social nature in small day to day attitudes. Approximately one hundred professionals from Texbrasil companies attended the talks, including professionals from Vicunha, Colcci and Santanense.
The talks were given by WGSN’s CCO for Latin America, Andrea Bisker, by the Director of Mindset, Leticia Abraham, and by the Design Coordinator at Berlan, Adriana Boulos. The group of speakers also included Camila Saker from Vimer, who discussed the latest news at Euroshop (the world’s largest retail equipment and services trade show), and Franchesca Muston, the Senior Retail & Merchandising Editor for WGSN, who gave a creative and analytical talk about the key trends in the latest season of international womenswear fashion shows.
Franchesca also took advantage of the fact that she was in Brazil to attend the fourth day of fashion shows at Sao Paulo Fashion Week, with three Texbrasil members holding shows: Colcci, Adriana Degreas and Gloria Coelho.
In addition to the labels, up and coming participants in the BtoBe (Brazilians to be) project also showed their work and collections to the Editor. Gabriela Sakate, Gralias, Spirodiro, Nosotros and CYN by Cynthia Hayashi welcomed Franchesca at the Abit auditorium, where they showed talent and designs from Brazil’s newest generation of designers.
