Casa de Criadores and Texbrasil announce BtoBe finalists

Last week, in Sao Paulo, the 12 finalists were chosen to take part in the first edition of the BtoBe (Brazilians to Be) project. Assessments were done by the teams at Casa de Criadores (House of Creators) and Texbrasil (Brazilian Fashion Industry Internationalization Program, maintained by Abit and Apex-Brasil), the creators of the contest. Alba Ferrari, a foreign trade consultant, and fashion designers Gabriela Sakate and Renan Serrano, of Trendt, also participated. The candidates in the Fashion Students category were chosen considering commercial, conceptual and technical aspects, such as originality, quality and choice of materials; while in the Fashion Entrepreneurs category, selection focused on aspects such as business planning, production capacity and brand communication.

“We are very happy with the real expansion of the contest, which received entries from states including Ceara, Parana, Minas Gerais and Rio Grande do Norte, to mention a few. In this first edition, we have proven that there is a pent up demand on the part of other major cities, such as Belo Horizonte, that were not covered by the Ponto Zero program,” says Evilasio Miranda, Manager of the Fashion and Design Center at Texbrasil.

The six nominees in each category will show their work on October 16, during the last night of Casa de Criadores, in Sao Paulo; the shows will be judged by a jury of specialists who will name the winners. The format varies between a fashion show and an exhibit, for the Fashion Students and Fashion Entrepreneurs, respectively.
