Not Just a Label opens pop-up store with Ponto Zero labels
Starting on August 7, the Not Just a Label online sales outlet will see a Brazilian invasion, with collections by Ponto Zero (Ground Zero) Project member labels Cynthia Hayashi, Der Metropol, Spirodiro, Karin Feller, Trendt, Helen Rödel, Gabriela Sakate and Gralias going on sale. This international exposure will last for one month and is the result of a relationship begun in 2012 by Texbrasil (Brazilian Fashion Industry Export Program), a Program developed by Abit in partnership with Apex-Brasil (Brazilian Trade and Investment Promotion Agency), with Stefan Siegel, a scout responsible for the NJAL platform.
Siegel first came to Brazil last December just to participate in the end of the contest’s 5th edition, in a communications activity for the Program, which also develops image, fashion, design, sustainability, innovation, trade promotion, intelligence and other initiatives. “We are very optimistic about Ponto Zero (Ground Zero) brands going on sale at Not Just a Label; this is something new that involves various areas of the Program. In addition to the increased visibility, these eight labels will have the chance to test out acceptance of their products on a platform that has been internationally recognized as a launching pad for emerging talent,” says Evilásio Miranda, Manager of Texbrasil’s Fashion and Design Center.
In July of this year, these young fashion designers took part in actions for the Ponto Zero (Ground Zero) Showcase, held in London and Paris. Activities began with a press and buyers event at the Brazilian embassy in the English capital. After that, participants showed their S/S 2014 collections at an event featuring a cocktail, an exhibit and a show by Brazilian electronic music group Tetine. Next, they also showed their collections at Who’s Next Prêt-à-Porter, one of Europe’s biggest trade shows.
