London and Paris play host to young talents from Ponto Zero
Helen Rödel, Der Metropol, Gralias, Cynthia Hayashi, Trendt, Karin Feller, Gabriela Sakate and Spirodiro land in London next week to take part in international initiatives for the Ponto Zero Showcase. Activities start on the 3rd with a press and buyers event at the Brazilian embassy in the English capital. On the 4th, the participants will show their S/S 2014 collections at a mixed event with a cocktail, exhibit and show by Brazilian electronic music group Tetine. Next, they will go to Paris to show at Who’s Next Pret-à-Portêr, one of Europe’s most important trade shows.
A training and development incubator for new talent in fashion and fashion design, the Ponto Zero Showcase is developed by Texbrasil (Brazilian Fashion Industry Export Program, developed by Abit in partnership with the Brazilian Trade and Investment Agency), Mercado Mundo Mix and Casa de Criadores. “London is one of the biggest international hubs for new designers, which is why we chose it. We believe that the profile of this group of talented professionals will be a good fit with the British market,” explains Evilásio Miranda, Texbrasil’s Fashion and Design Manager.
The London event will kick off the opening of The Laundry, a space owned by Radiohead guitarist Ed O’Brien. The space is a studio/art gallery mix in hip East London. This initiative is aimed at creating long-term relationships between the project brands and top international buyers.
If you like what you see, you can take it home with you. The eight Ponto Zero designer’s collections will be on sale at the “Not Just a Label” website, from July 4 to 31.
