Group of foreign journalists and buyers get to know Rio carnival
Through Texbrasil (Brazilian Fashion Industry Export Program), developed by Abit in partnership with Apex-Brasil (Brazilian Trade and Investment Promotion Agency), a group of two journalists and three buyers celebrated Rio carnival in the cabin of the agency in Sapucai.
Matias Alegre, from Fox Argentina, Victoria Lescano, from Jornal Pagina 12, and the business representatives Questa Collection, Fultex and Class Life watched the fashion shows and even had the chance to walk on the samba catwalk, parading along with the dancers.
The project that brought them, developed by Apex-Brasil, aims to capitalize on the image of the carnival and, thus, promote business for Brazilian companies from various sectors, including the textile and fashion industry. International brands invited by Texbrasil held business meetings and signed purchases of approximately USD 100 thousand. The signed contacts should yet yield more business closings to the national brands in the next 12 months.
