A group of British journalists came to Brazil between January 28 and February 1 to see the work of some brands from Texbrasil Design, a group comprising 26 fashion brands with premium positioning. The project is an initiative of Texbrasil (Brazilian Fashion Industry Export Program) held by Abit (Brazilian Textile and Apparel Industry Association) and Apex-Brasil (Brazilian Trade and Investment Promotion Agency). Anna Holly (Marie Claire), Boonie Rakhit (Elle), Naomi Smart (Vogue), Katrina Judd (Style Trail) and Kristin Knox (The Clothers Whisperer) joined the trip.

The Program included visits to Rio de Janeiro, Sao Paulo and Belo Horizonte. In the capital of Sao Paulo, the professionals visited the studio of stylist Adriana Degreas and JK Iguatemi Shopping, besides going to the fashion show of Patricia Bonaldi in Mube. They also went to the headquarters of Abit to meet stylists of Ponto Zero. By the way, these young stylists, Cynthia Hayashi, Der Metropol, Gabriela Sakate, Gralias, Helen Rodel, Karin Feller, Spirodiro, Teodoro,  Anita and Trendt will showcase in London in next April as part of the project.

In Rio, the British knew pieces of Alessa and Daniela Martins, before heading to Belo Horizonte to see firsthand the knitting craftsmanship of the brands Gig and Patricia Bonaldi. The group also made a stop in the historic city of Ouro Preto in Minas. “We wanted to present to these trendsetters a complete overview of the Brazilian production”, said Evilasio Miranda, manager of Fashion & Design of Texbrasil.

This is the first edition of the press trip, focusing on England, as it is an important and strategic market in Europe.
