Bolivian journalists praise Brazilian fashion during special press trip
At the invitation of Texbrasil, the Brazilian Fashion Industry Internationalization Program, developed by Abit in partnership with Apex-Brasil (Brazilian Trade and Investment Promotion Agency), a group of five Bolivian journalists came to the city of Sao Paulo to find out a bit more about the culture of Brazilian fashion during Sao Paulo Fashion Week, held from October 19 to 23, at Fundacao Bienal.
Carlos Prommel (Vanidades Magazine), Carly Banegas (Cosas Magazine), Paola Justiniano de Chazal (Diario El Deber), Carolina Suarez (Sociales Magazine) and Ana Lucia Gutierrez (The Big Brown Eyes) took part in an intense schedule in Sao Paulo: the group attended fashion shows by the Animale, PatBo, Apartamento 03 and Colcci brands and also visited Clube Morena Rosa, Letage, Scarf Me, CYN, Karin Feller, Dudalina, Shoulder and Intensify.Me. The schedule was created to include companies that already export to Bolivia and that are part of the special initiative between Texbrasil and the Marcia.Maria multibrand store.
“I loved seeing the world of people that work with fashion and admiring the launches of collections first-hand, for both established as well as new designers,” says Carol Suarez. “Brazil is a fascinating country that makes anyone that has the pleasure of visiting falls in love with it. Fashion here is the expression of this diverse nation, with all of its colors, prints and models.”
As a blogger, Ana Lucia already understands the magnitude of the Brazilian fashion industry, but she was able to personally see growth in the areas of Brazilian design, blogging and publishing. “Now I look at Brazilian fashion with more appreciation and admiration, since I was able to see the quality of products up-close and listen to the inspiring stories of the designers we visited, like Karin Feller and Cynthia Hayashi,” she says.
Paola de Chazal echoes her countrymen’s opinions, adding that: “I was fascinated by the work that Texbrasil does to promote internationalization of fashion. The organization of the press trip was excellent and I noticed significant efforts were made to provide a varied schedule that a lot of thought went into to reach the Bolivian consumer” she says. “Brazil has its own, authentic fashion and talented people are everywhere,” she says in closing.
The next Sao Paulo Fashion Week is scheduled for April 2016.
