11th edition of Premiere Vision Sao Paulo comes to an end
Last Wednesday (May 13), the 11th edition of Premiere Vision Sao Paulo came to an end. The trade show is responsible for joining exclusive launches in denim, fibers, threads, notions, textile designs, fabrics and private label services in just one place. The F/W 2016 edition included attendance by 69 exhibitors from 9 countries as well as by six international buyers, who came at the invitation of Texbrasil, the Brazilian Fashion Industry Internationalization Program, developed by Abit in partnership with Apex-Brasil (Brazilian Trade and Investment Promotion Agency). At the event, they saw Program member brands such as Canatiba, Cataguases, Cedro, Digitale Textil, Estudio Capim and Santanense.
In addition to the buyers, Texbrasil invited five South American journalists: Andres Barreto (Style America), Natalia Diaz (El Tiempo), Lina Cepero (Fucsia), Catalina Moncada (Infashion) and Raul Mendoza (La Republica). The group not only took part in the show, but also had an exclusive program to discover industry highlights. They had visits at several places, including the Canatiba factory, in Santa Barbara D’Oeste, and the Choix multi-brand store, in Sao Paulo, which sells brands such as Gabrielab, Trendt and Karin Feller, all Texbrasil members.
According to Natalia Diaz, the visit to the event showed a very interesting and technological textile production model. “I noticed that here, a little of each segment in the chain is shown, and the presence of Dudu Bertholini as an image gives the show a more fashionable touch,” she says, mentioning the Brazilian designer that personified the event this season. Raul Mendoza, a reporter for Peru’s La Republica newspaper, echoes his colleague’s opinion. “It’s my first time at PVSP and I had a balanced schedule that covered Brazilian textile production and fashion trends. I would also note the attendance of five Peruvian companies, here in Brazil for the first time. For them, the size of the Brazilian market is a draw and an incentive to grow,” he says.
In addition to the showroom, PVSP had a Trend Vision presentation, debates between major names in fashion, and the Focus Seminar. For manager Luana Cloper, the focus on fashion information is a reflection of the event’s strength as a tool for creation and promoting dialog, debates and relationship-building between the various stakeholders in the textile and apparel chain.
The next edition is scheduled to take place on November 4 and 5.
