The “Project Comprador” consists of international buyers, distributors and representatives coming to meet Brazilian brands. Buyers are selected according to the profile of the companies participating in the project. This time, 2Rios Lingerie, welcomed the visits, with the customized support of Texbrasil (Program for the Internationalization of the Brazilian Textile and Fashion Industry) — carried out through a partnership between ApexBrasil (Brazilian Agency for the Promotion of Exports and Investments) and Abit (Brazilian Textile and Apparel Industry Association).

The visits took place with Sisi, from Uruguay, and Giselle SRL, from Paraguay. The Uruguayan company is a leader in underwear, founded in 1952, and integrated into the Komax group – which represents GAP, Ralph Lauren, Kipling, and many more. 2Rios has been a Sisi supplier for over 10 years and is now responsible for adding new products to the network. The Paraguayan company, Giselle SRL, which has been on the market for over 20 years, serves the region of Asunción with physical stores and, through online sales, has been expanding services to new consumers in its country. Together, these two brands generated around US$500,000 in purchases for the next 12 months.

Eliane Bohnen, responsible for the Export at 2Rios Lingerie, says that the Project allows for an increase in the relationship with possible buyers. “Customers dedicated the time of the visit to learn all the details of the collection, clarify doubts and strengthen the partnership.” According to Eliane, cost support from Texbrasil was essential to get this project into life. The action resulted in “an increase in the volume of purchases and the inclusion of references in orders that had not been previously evaluated”, she concludes.

For Lilian Kaddissi, Executive Superintendent of Strategic Projects, Abit, the program is quite exiciting. “It is an interesting program, as it connects international buyers to our participants, providing networking and, in most cases, encouraging exports, as buyers get to know the company and its products up close, gaining trust and strengthening relationships”.
