Abit and ApexBrasil Renew Cooperation Agreement

04/10/2026

Texbrasil, the Brazilian Textile and Fashion Industry Internationalization Program, carried out by Abit (Brazilian Textile and Apparel Industry Association) in partnership with ApexBrasil (Brazilian Trade and Investment Promotion Agency), has renewed its cooperation agreement for the 14th time for the 2026–2028 biennium. In total, investments of approximately BRL 48.2 million are planned, combining resources from ApexBrasil and counterpart funding, promoting internationalization and leveraging business opportunities for the Brazilian textile and apparel industry throughout all stages of its export process.

Over two decades of operation, Texbrasil has supported more than 2,000 companies. It currently assists around 450 companies, with a significant participation of micro and small-sized enterprises from the apparel, textile, home textiles (bed, table and bath), nonwovens and technical textiles segments. In this new cycle, approximately 150 initiatives will be implemented, aimed at business promotion activities, adding qualification and increasing competitiveness through strategic criteria that foster development, encourage innovation and promote sustainable practices. Activities related to interest defense and brand positioning will also be strengthened, providing guidance on international certifications and ESG best practices to add value to Brazilian companies, which will gain better conditions and competitive attributes in international markets.

“Texbrasil reaffirms the example of successful and necessary partnerships to drive consistent results for Brazilian companies. This achievement is made possible after much dedication and continuous capacity building to incorporate innovation, planning and strategy into businesses—factors intrinsic to Abit and also shared with the sector—so that together we can consolidate ourselves as a reference in fashion and creative design, aiming to expand our presence in the international market,” says Fernando Valente Pimentel, Executive Director of Abit.

For the biennium, fourteen international target markets have been established: Argentina, Australia, China, Colombia, Egypt, the United Arab Emirates, Spain, the United States, France, Greece, Japan, Mexico, Panama and Paraguay. Brands participating in the agreement will receive mentoring to understand the internationalization process and to develop entrepreneurial and cultural strategies in order to access better business opportunities.

The renewal of the project strengthens the purpose of generating results by ensuring long-term planned actions, prioritizing a strategic market vision and encouraging more preparatory initiatives so that companies can take part in international trade fairs, buyer projects, roadshows and showrooms, enabling growth, greater maturity and access to marketplaces.

Lilian Kaddissi, Superintendent of Marketing and Business at Abit, also highlights the benefits of Texbrasil in combining knowledge and practice. “We are aligned with macro trends, offering strategic consulting, mapping opportunities and events, and most importantly, supporting companies with little or extensive market expertise throughout all stages of the export journey. We act as an acceleration hub to take Brazilian products further,” she explains.

The activities under the agreement will allow participating companies to effectively access the global market, contributing significantly to increasing the sector’s competitiveness and expanding Brazilian exports. The schedules for initiatives and international events can be accessed on the website.
