Abit is honored at the Apex-Brasil Award for excellence in trade promotion
Abit (Brazilian Textile and Apparel Industry Association) was one of the honorees at the 5th Apex-Brasil Award for Excellence in Exports, which recognizes the work of organizations, companies and professionals that collaborate to consolidate export culture in Brazil.The goal was to identify initiatives that provide a vision that goes further and contributes to renewing Brazil’s image in the world.The ceremony was held on Wednesday night (May 28), at Teatro Alfa, in Sao Paulo, and gathered over 700 people, including executives, trade association representatives, journalists and authorities.
The Association was given specific recognition because for its Placement of New Companies in the Exporting Effort.Founded in the 1950s, the organization connects the Brazilian textile and apparel chain and develops its potential abroad through Texbrasil (Brazilian Fashion Industry Internationalization Program, the result of a partnership with the Agency).”Placement of new companies in the global market is one of the cornerstones of our growth as an exporting country, and a strategic need,” says Mauricio Borges, the President of Apex-Brasil.
The Program’s Technical Director, Frederico Bernardo, was given the honor by the Executive Manager for Industry Projects at the Agency, Christiano Braga.”Words cannot describe the thrill it is to receive this recognition for our work. I would like to thank Apex-Brasil for the 14 years of partnership with the textile and apparel industry.Our day to day challenge is making the Program better and better for our companies, keeping up with changes in the market,” he stated.
Texbrasil was also among the three finalists in the Products Industry Organization, with its “BtoBe, incubator for new talent in fashion” case, covering a project aimed at encouraging young designers to develop a global mentality and a long-term vision of management. Currently, 10 labels take part in the group and have training activities, consulting, international image (fashion shows and meetings with the press) and business (trade shows, showrooms and B2C sales) actions, with a focus on the markets in Japan, Europe (especially France and England), the United States and the Middle East, which are naturally receptive to up and coming designers and products with higher added value.
During the Award, there was also a fashion show on the stage that included Texbrasil member brands Patrícia Bonaldi and Pedro Lourenco, showing a new way of thinking about fashion, opening horizons and provoking social and environmental changes.
