Abit presents a preview of Brazilian fashion headed for Milan’s runways
A press event in São Paulo offers a preview of an international initiative that will take ten sustainable Brazilian brands to Milan Fashion Week
Abit (Brazilian Textile and Apparel Industry Association) will host an exclusive event for the specialized press on September 9, 2026, at its headquarters in São Paulo, offering a first look at the Brazilian Sustainable Fashion in Milan international initiative. The initiative will take ten Brazilian brands with sustainability practices and attributes to Milan Fashion Week in Italy, one of the leading events on the international fashion calendar.
The initiative is organized by Abit in partnership with ApexBrasil (Brazilian Trade and Investment Promotion Agency), through Texbrasil (Brazilian Textile and Fashion Industry Internationalization Program), with support from the Brazilian Sustainable Fashion Association (Abrimos).
During the preview, specialized media will have access to looks from the collections developed by the ten selected brands and will also learn about the initiative’s objectives, the internationalization strategy for Brazilian fashion and the opportunities that participation in Milan is expected to generate for the companies.
Ten Brazilian brands headed to Milan
The brands selected to participate in the initiative are Alina Amaral, Ana de Jour, Camila Machado Ateliê, Celeste, Ludimila Heringer, Lybethras, Natural Cotton Color, Proposta Verde, Val Valadares e Villa Dharma.
The selection brings together companies that stand out for developing products with sustainability attributes and that represent different perspectives within Brazilian fashion. Participation in Milan is intended to increase the international visibility of these brands and connect them with key professionals in the global market.
Sustainable Brazilian fashion takes the international spotlight
The program in Italy will take place from September 22 to 24, 2026, when Milan will welcome buyers, journalists, influencers and industry professionals from around the world for Milan Fashion Week.
On September 22, the ten Brazilian brands will present their collections in an exclusive runway show scheduled for 2:00 PM local time. On September 23 and 24, the program will continue with a showroom focused on generating business and building relationships with buyers and other players in the international market.
The initiative seeks to position Brazilian fashion as a benchmark for creativity, innovation, quality and sustainability, expanding the presence of Brazilian companies in strategic markets and strengthening the perception of Brazil as a supplier of high-value-added products.
Internationalization and promotion of Brazilian fashion
According to Fernando Pimentel, Executive Director of Abit, the event in São Paulo provides an opportunity to bring the press closer to the initiative and present the objectives of the international action: “The event we will hold in São Paulo will allow the press to learn about the details of this work and closely follow an initiative that reinforces the positioning of Brazilian fashion in global markets”.
The initiative is also part of ApexBrasil’s strategy to expand the international presence of Brazilian companies and connect them with buyers and partners in strategic markets.
“The initiative in Milan represents a unique opportunity to expand the international presence of Brazilian fashion and connect our companies with buyers, partners and opinion leaders in strategic markets. The preview in São Paulo provides an advance look at this agenda and an opportunity to showcase the creativity, diversity and innovative capabilities of the brands that will bring sustainable, high-value-added Brazilian fashion to the international market”, says Maria Paula Velloso, Business Director at ApexBrasil.
According to Francisca Vieira, President of Abrimos, joint efforts among associations and institutions are essential to increasing the international
recognition of sustainable Brazilian fashion: “Brazil has the fashion the world wants and the planet needs, but the world needs to know about it. This requires planning, investment and collaboration through associations such as Abit and Abrimos and institutions such as ApexBrasil, the government’s leading export promotion agency. Together, we can therefore promote luxury, high-value-added fashion”.
Through Brazilian Sustainable Fashion in Milan, the country’s industry is expanding its presence in one of the world’s leading fashion hubs and creating new opportunities for companies whose products combine design, innovation, quality and sustainability.
