The Brazilian Trade and Investment Promotion Agency (Apex-Brasil) presented to its partner entities, on Thursday (13), in Sao Paulo (SP), the FIFA World Cup 2014 Project. The event gathered 80 organizations from various sectors of the Brazilian economy, besides employees of the Agency.

In his opening speech, President Mauricio Borges stressed the importance of the participation of the entities. “We need to seize this opportunity as an organization, as a country, to generate business. Our team has 80 players, bringing together various sectors and, in this project, we will have the opportunity to show to the world products and services of an innovative, creative and competitive Brazil. You can always count on Apex-Brasil.”

The agreement signed with the International Federations of Football Association (FIFA) will enable the Agency to carry out commercial promotion activities in the Confederations Cup in 2013 and in the FIFA World Cup in 2014.

The FIFA World Cup 2014 Project, developed by Apex-Brasil, primarily provides actions in the Confederations Cup, to be held from 15 to 30 June 2013. The games will be played in the cities of Brasilia, Rio de Janeiro, Fortaleza, Recife, Salvador and Belo Horizonte. The project involves the participation of international buyers and influencers in games and in business agenda during the season.

“It’s another audacious project of Apex-Brasil, and this has the explosive power of the Brazilian football. There’s nothing better than a personal relationship with the customer. The relationship marketing brings us closer and makes us sell. In 2011, we took part of the Carnival Project and we were able to increase sales by 15%”, said the President of Sindifibras (Union of Industries of Fibers of Bahia), Wilson Andrade.

“There is no industry that is not interest at all in the World Cup. I’m sure that we’ll have an attractive and efficient event to generate business”, said the executive manager of INP (National Institute of Plastics), Marco Wydra.

The Confederations Cup is expected to mobilize over 500 foreign buyers and influencers. It is estimated that the World Cup mobilize twice that number. According to data from the federal government, the World Cup 2014 may add R$ 183 billion to the GDP of Brazil until 2019.

Apex-Brasil already develops two actions based on relationship marketing: the IndyCar Series and the Carnival Project. Similar format will be used in the FIFA World Cup 2014 Project. In the 2012 season of the IndyCar Series, the project involved the participation of 345 foreign companies, 163 Brazilian companies and 26 entities, generating an estimated business of USD 1.1 billion for the next 12 months. The 2012 edition of the Carnival Project had the participation of 250 foreign buyers, 25 represented countries and 34 Brazilian entities. The expectation of business for the next 12 months was USD 941.628 million.
