Bahia becomes inspiration of Borana’s new collection
The beach fashion brand Borana, which is part of Texbrasil (Internationalization Program of the Brazilian Textile and Fashion Industry) – the result of a partnership between Abit (Brazilian Textile and Apparel Industry Association) and Apex-Brasil (Brazilian Export and Investment Promotion Agency) – has just launched its summer 2021 collection.
According to the creator and stylist of the brand, Patiara Aguiar, the new line brings many different colors, details and models. “Even a black bikini is not basic,” jokes Patiara. She explains that all the pieces have a handcraft touch, which is part of the DNA of the brand. The collection has a total of 150 looks and almost 300 pieces.
The state of Bahia was the inspiration for the launch, after the brand started to sell its products in tourist cities such as Trancoso and Caraíva. The local landscapes and the lifestyle of the region have become the backdrop for the campaign. The brand’s clients have also inspired the new models. “I dove into a trip to Bahia and our clients were my greatest inspiration. I studied the behavior, what they would love to wear, I thought about the travel bag”, comments the stylist.
Patiara also commented she had already idealized the collection when the pandemic began, which offered more time to work on the new ideas. She also tells that, even with the difficulties of the period, as a reduced team and delays in the delivery of raw materials, it was possible to complete the collection in time. “In the end, everything worked out,” she celebrates.
Although she can’t choose a favorite model, the designer tells that the pieces with braids on the belly have a special place in her heart. Besides the bikinis, however, the brand invests on other items, such as beach outings, dresses, blouses and pants.
