Ballet inspires next Patrícia Bonaldi collection

06/26/2013

On June 25, Minas Gerais-based designer Patrícia Bonaldi showed her new S/S 2014 collection, at Iate Clube de Santos, in São Paulo. Very elegant and delicate, the garments were inspired by ballet choreography.

Dresses featured flowing skirts with lots of movement. There were plunging necklines as well as tube tops. Cut-outs and transparencies showed bare skin, especially around the décolletage and waist.

The highlight of the collection was floral appliqués on fabric and embroidery using Swarovski crystals. Nude and black tones dominated the color portfolio. However, midnight blue was also featured in the collection.

Patrícia Bonaldi partnered with Schutz for footwear. References to ballet wee used significantly in the collection, such as satin ribbons and ballet flats.

The brand is a member of Texbrasil (Brazilian Fashion Industry Export Program), which was developed by Abit in partnership with Apex-Brasil (Brazilian Trade and Investment Promotion Agency), and has been sold at Harrods of London and, more recently, at Spain’s El Corte Inglés.
