Belchior Cortinas e Acessorios and Textil J. Serrano hold great negotiations at Heimtextil 2018
On January 11 and 12, Belchior Cortinas e Acessorios and Textil J. Serrano brought their collections to one of the most important annual events in Europe for home fabrics and décor: Heimtextil. They took part in the event in Frankfurt, Germany with the support of Texbrasil – the Brazilian Textile and Fashion Industry Internationalization Program, developed by the Brazilian Textile and Apparel Industry Association (Abit) in partnership with the Brazilian Trade and Investment Promotion Agency (Apex-Brasil).
The companies said they expected to do business of around USD 1.1 million over the next 12 months as a result of contacts established at the event. The show also had a total of 2,975 exhibitors and 70,000 visitors from across the globe.
This was the first time that Textil J. Serrano has exhibited at the show. According to Claudia Gonçalves, the company’s Commercial Director, being at Heimtextil was a new experience that was very important to position the company. “We decided to take part in the show to not only gain publicity for the brand, but to get a bit of a feel for what is happening outside of Brazil. It was essential for our education,” she says.
According to Henrique de Andrade, Belchior Cortinas e Acessorios also had a positive experience: the company made around 65 contacts, 40 of which were with new buyers and distributors from several countries.
Heimtextil is a quite traditional trade show, held since 1971, which serves as a bellwether for the trends that will be seen during the year. The theme the event’s organizer’s covered this time had to do with urbanization. This is why a Heimtextil 2018 trend book was launched and there were some installations at the show based on the idea that “The future is urban.”
