Brands of BtoBe fashion student finalists make their editorial debut in FFW
Brazilians To Be – BtoBe is a project aimed at fostering new talent in Brazilian fashion to develop a long-term view of management, geared towards internationalizing their brands.The result of a partnership between Casa de Criadores (House of Creators) and Texbrasil, the Brazilian Fashion Industry Internationalization Program, developed by Abit and Apex-Brasil (Brazilian Trade and Investment Promotion Agency), the project began as a contest between schools in 2009 and grew to become a type of incubator for new fashion businesses in 2012.
The BtoBe Contest is a way for the young designers in the incubator to get started in the industry and is open to students and entrepreneurs across Brazil.Ana Luisa Barros, Einstein Halking, Giorgi Philipi, Marcela Saravy, of Marcela Ernestina, Gabriela Braga, of Gabrielab and Pedro Andrade and Giovanna Costa, of Veredas, were the six Fashion Student finalists for the 2014 edition, chosen considering commercial, conceptual and technical aspects of their creations.Gabrielab has already established its place as the contest winner, but all of the finalist brands debuted in a Gradient fashion editorial, for the FFW website.
Styled by Michela Sachespi, with art direction by Chiara Lia Gazzi, photography by Carolina Del Bue and layout by Davide Stanca, the editorial included items from the brands’ F/W 2015 collections, all shown at the Casa de Criadores fashion show in October 2014.
