Brazilian brands celebrate their participation in Maredamare
After a year suspended due to the Covid-19 pandemic, the Maredamare trade show returned to Fortezza da Basso, in Florence, Italy, with the presence of three Brazilian brands, and through the support of Texbrasil (Internationalization Program of the Brazilian Textile and Fashion Industry) – the result of a partnership between Abit (Brazilian Textile and Apparel Industry Association) and Apex-Brasil (Brazilian Trade and Investment Promotion Agency).
The companies Lua Morena, Rio de Sol, and UV.Line presented their swimwear collections to buyers from Italy and Europe during three days, doing USD 193,000 in sales during the event and in forecast for the next 12 months.
According to Rio de Sol’s president, Gian Guatteri, the participation was positive. “Participating was worth it,” he comments. He tells that, although most of the buyers were from Italy, there was demand from international clients, especially from countries like Russia, Ukraine, Greece, and Spain, including a store from Barcelona that closed a deal with Rio de Sol at the trade show. For him, participation in trade shows is essential, especially to find new representatives and distributors.
Maredamare is one of the oldest trade shows in Italy, and in recent years it has been classified as an international event, increasing the participation of brands and the visit of buyers.
