Brazilian brands prospect USD 3 million after Colombiatex and Colombiamoda

In July, the extra edition of Colombiatex took place in Medellín, parallel to Colombiamoda. In addition to a digital format version in January, the event also had a physical edition between July 27th and 20th.

The companies of Texbrasil (Brazilian Textile and Fashion Industry Internationalization Program) – the result of a partnership between Abit (Brazilian Textile and Apparel Industry Association) and Apex-Brasil (Brazilian Trade and Investment Promotion Agency), – Covolan and Vicunha were at Colombiatex.

The brand Leninha Roupa de Baixo participated in Colombiamoda digitally. Together, the companies made USD 874,000 at the events. For the next 12 months, the expectation is to close another USD 3 million in business.

For Vicunha, which has participated in the event since the Program’s support began, it was very important to resume face-to-face communication with customers. “We were very pleased to be able to serve customers at the Vicunha stand and have news for 2022”, comments Maria Angélica Rodriguez, responsible for the brand’s marketing in Latin America.

Due to travel restrictions, the 2021 edition was more local and had Colombian buyers as the vast majority. Even so, Angelica points out that the brand received around 80 customers during the three days of the event.

“Colombiatex is the main tradeshow for Vicunha in Latin America. We look forward to getting back for the January 2022 edition. It is the most important meeting of customers and suppliers in the region”, she concludes.
