Brazilian brands find great business at Paris Shows
From October 2 to 5, five member brands of Texbrasil, the Brazilian Fashion Industry Internationalization Program, developed by Abit and Apex-Brasil (Brazilian Trade and Investment Promotion Agency), were in Paris taking part in three different international shows. Alessa, Egrey, Fabiana Milazzo, Helo Rocha, Apartamento 03, Patricia Motta, Patricia Bonaldi and Pat Bo were at Tranoi. While Anamaria Couture was at Vendome Luxury and Gabrielab took part in Capsule for the first time.
Together, these brands did over USD 342,500 in business and expect to do USD 2.3 million in business over the next twelve months. In total, 224 were made with buyers from countries such as Italy, China, Iceland, Switzerland, Dubai, England, Spain, the U.K., Saudi Arabia and Japan.
This was the first Capsule show for Gabriela Braga, the designer behind Gabrielab. “I made great contacts with customers and my collection received lots of attention from Italian and Chinese buyers, who really liked the exclusive prints,” she says. Most of the showrooms and trade shows took place at the same time as Paris Fashion Week, drawing the most varied industry professionals to the city. Because they had to go to so many events in such a space of time, contact was very quick between the retailer and the brand. “It was a necessary and great experience. At the same time I had butterflies in my stomach and a smile on my face,” she says, excited.
Upcoming editions of the shows are scheduled for the first week of March 2016.
