Brazilian brands make over USD 7 million in sales at Colombiatex 2022

Colombiatex 2022 returned to its original format with the in-person edition in January, and the Brazilian delegation attended the event with the support of Texbrasil (Brazilian Textile and Fashion Industry Internationalization Program) – the result of a partnership between Abit (Brazilian Textile and Apparel Industry Association) and ApexBrasil (Brazilian Trade and Investment Promotion Agency).

For three days, 22 Brazilian companies in the textile and supplies sector have exhibited their novelties at the largest industry event in Latin America. Along with the trade show, the brands closed deals totaling USD 7,175,000.00, besides prospecting another USD 63,470,000.00 for the next 12 months.

The participating companies were Berlan, Brand Textil, Canatiba, Cataguases, Cedro Textil, Coltex, Covolan, Dalila Textil, Diklatex, Kalimo, Linhas Trichê, Paranatex, Salotex, Sancris, Santaconstancia, Santana Textiles, Santanense, Santista Textil, SMS Metais, SPA Textil, Textil J. Serrano and Vicunha Textil.

Brand Textil participated for the first time and left the event satisfied with the results. According to Bruna Vianna, from the brand’s style planning area, they served more than 300 customers. “We found the trade show very busy and with great business opportunities. Our product has greatly pleased the international market and we are interested in participating in other editions,” he said. Still according to Bruna, in addition to the Colombian presence, the brand received buyers from the Dominican Republic, Venezuela, Ecuador and the United States.

Rafael Madureira, Kalimo‘s Export Sales, also exalted visitors and highlighted the presence of companies in the fitness and beach segment, as well as the return to the face-to-face format as essential to strengthen international relations. “We realize that in a general level everyone was missing face-to-face trade shows. On the days of the event we received a high flow of visitors on our booth“, he added.

Texbrasil also counted on a booth at the event, with information about the brands. Whoever passed through the entrance of Plaza Mayor in Medellín, immediately saw the Brazilian space and could check out fabric samples from the exhibitors.

According to Lilian Kaddissi, Texbrasil’s executive manager, the balance of Colombiatex 2022 was positive. “It is important for companies to have direct contact with buyers and the return to Colombiatex brought many opportunities for Texbrasil participants. Our brands were also highlighted in the Sustainability Route and showed how they are developing this theme in their operations,” Lilian concluded.
