Brazilian brands show their potential at Fashion Resort
The region of southern Bahia is the right destination for tourists looking for a relaxing vacation set against a paradisiacal backdrop. How about bringing the best of Brazilian fashion to this environment? That was the reason why Dreamakers held Fashion Resort in Arraial D’Ajuda (BA) from October 26 to 29. The Made in Brazil project – part of the scope of the initiative – is doing this to develop the visibility of Brazilian labels and artists on the international scene, using strategic activities such as fashion shows, showrooms, fashion training and talks. The initiative relied on institutional support from Abit.
Brands such as: Amir Slama, Blueman, Farm, Helena Caio, Hy Brasil, Sol, Novo Louvre, Emporio Zart and Amapô were at Fashion Resort, all of which are members of Texbrasil (Brazilian Textile and Fashion Industry Internationalization Program), the result of a partnership between Abit (Brazilian Textile and Apparel Industry Association) and Apex-Brasil (Brazilian Trade and Investment Promotion Agency).
In addition to fashion shows by Amir Slama, Amapô, Blueman and other brands, the “Tropical Trade Show” showroom welcomed buyers from the world’s biggest shops, department stores and boutiques, with the support of an export trade specialized in fashion. “Our goal is to strengthen the Brazil brand and add value to products and services in Brazil’s creative economy abroad,” says Carla Wolff, who came up with the event concept and serves as its Creative Director.
