Starting next Monday (19), the editions of two major Latin American events for the textile, fashion, and apparel segments will begin: Colombiatex de Las Américas and Colombiamoda.

A group made up of 13 Brazilian companies is present at the fairs with the support of Texbrasil (Brazilian Textile and Fashion Industry Internationalization Program) – the result of a partnership between Abit (Brazilian Textile and Apparel Industry Association) and Apex-Brasil (Brazilian Trade and Investment Promotion Agency).

The delegation of the 34th edition of Colombiatex brings together the following brands: Canatiba, Cataguases, Cedro Têxtil, Coltex, Dalila, La Estampa, Latina Têxtil, Lunelli, Macias Têxtil, Santaconstancia, Covolan, and Vicunha. This is the first mixed edition (digital and physical) in the history of the traditional textile and apparel event.

The virtual edition takes place on the fair’s own platform, from the 19th of July to the 6th of August. In January, Colombiatex went 100% digital and resulted in the prospect of USD 11 million in business for participating Brazilian companies.

Before the pandemic, the event gathered 500,000 people in Plaza Mayor, in Medellín. In 2021, the physical event, which takes place between the 27th and 29th of July, will feature the companies Covolan (at AM 180) and Vicunha (at AM 168).

“Colombia is an important target market for Brazilian brands, and with the difficulties we faced in the last year due to the pandemic, we know how important it is to maintain relationships with potential international customers, either in person or online,” says the executive manager of Texbrasil, Lilian Kaddissi. “We have good expectations, especially regarding the continuity of the digital fair, which at the beginning of the year brought good results for the participants,” she concludes.

The Program also supports the lingerie brand Leninha Roupas de Baixo in Colombiamoda digital. The event takes place annually during the Colombia Fashion Week, focusing on clothing and new trends.
