Brazilian fashion achieves more than USD 6 million in business in New York

September featured the participation of 30 Brazilian companies in the Coterie and Magic tradeshows, in New York, in the United States. They were supported by Texbrasil, Fashion Label Brasil, Brazilian Footwear and Precious Brazil, programs carried out through partnerships between ApexBrasil (Brazilian Trade and Investment Promotion Agency), Abit (Brazilian Textile and Apparel Industry Association), Abest (Brazilian Association of Fashion Designers), Abicalçados (Brazilian Footwear Industry Association) and IBGM (Brazilian Gems and Precious Metals Institute), respectively.

In all, in both events, held between September 18 and 20, the Brazilian companies made more than USD 6 million, between sales during the tradeshow and the expectation of business in the next 12 months. Together, the representatives from Brazil also established more than 1,200 new contacts.

Lilian Kaddissi, Executive Superintendent of Strategic Projects at Abit, analyzed the delegation’s participation in the fairs. “Coterie and Magic are an essential showcase for Brazilian women’s fashion brands that want to develop business in the United States. In this edition we exceeded our expectations, obtained great results, and connected brands with qualified buyers.

The Brazilian delegation at Coterie included the following brands Andreza Chagas, Borana, Cristina Sabatini, Emi Beachwear, Eneida França, Lalibela, Maria Pavan, Maria Mercié, Matilda, Paola Bernardi, Tata Knitwear, Verosenso, of Texbrasil, Archai, Catarina Mina, Gapaz, Gissa Bicalho, Lavish, Lis Fiaschi, Nádia Gimenes, Pitaia, Sabine Arias, Serpui, Tai Dai, of Abest, and Gio Bernardes by the Precious Brazil Program of IBGM. Footwear and accessory brands, Salts and Schutz, of Abicalçados, are also part of the Brazilian delegation. Magic NY, meanwhile, received the brands Vestito Per Te, Virechic and Zinzane, of Texbrasil.
