Brazilian fashion invades pop-up store promoted by Texbrasil
Brazilian fashion will be a strong trend in Bolivia in the coming months. In an unprecedented initiative promoted by Texbrasil, the Brazilian Fashion Industry Internationalization Program, developed by Abit and Apex-Brasil (Brazilian Trade and Investment Promotion Agency), 15 Brazilian brands will occupy and exclusive pop-up store in Santa Cruz de la Sierra. They are: Animale, A.Brand, Maria Filo, Cholet, Scarf Me, CYN, Joy, Letage, Karin Feller, DB Rainbow, Intensify Me, Morena Rosa, Zinco, Maria Valentina and Shoulder.
The store will open September 12, with a launch event and fashion show for the S/S 2016 collections by the participating labels. The temporary store is a partnership between Texbrasil and the Amap group, which owns several stores in Bolivia. The initiative will take place in two spaces: at the Marcia.Maria store, a famous Bolivian multi brand, and at the Morena Rosa store (at the same location as Marcia.Maria), which in addition to its eponymous brand sells Zinco, Joy and Maria Valentina. The initiative will go until January of next year, including the Christmas shopping season and expects to bring in BRL 2.5 million over four months.
According to Abit data, in 2014 Brazil was responsible for 19% of apparel imports in Bolivia, exporting USD 11.8, which is 9% more than the previous year. That makes Brazil the 2nd largest importer, trailing only China and followed by Peru, Colombia and Ecuador. “This is a market that has huge potential and has yet to be widely explored, which leaves lots of space for Brazil’s presence to grow. Last year, the country’s GDP grew by 5.4%, surpassing USD 30 billion,” says Rafael Cervone, Abit CEO.
“In general terms, Bolivia is one of the top priority countries for Grupo Morena Rosa. We have a longtime partnership with the founders of Marcia.Maria and they even help us to develop our brand to the molds that we have today. For this special initiative with Texbrasil, we expect even more people to come into contact with Brazilian brands, and for them to be even more visible in Bolivia,” says Luis Felipe Paschoal, who is in charge of international sales for Grupo Morena Rosa.
According to Marília Gonzalez, a partner in the Karin Feller label, there are major expectations in relation to the pop-up store in Bolivia. “For the brand, opening up a new market is always a major achievement, since we expand our horizons and seek to learn about and understand this new location and its women, who also begin to be an inspiration for future collections,” says Gonzalez.
