Brazilian labels do great business at California shows
The city of Huntington Beach, in the U.S.A., hosted two major beachwear and fitnesswear trade shows from August 8 to 12: Swim Collective and Active Collective. Texbrasil, the Brazilian Fashion Industry Internationalization Program, developed by Abit and Apex-Brasil (Brazilian Trade and Investment Promotion Agency) supported nine Brazilian brands at the event: Despi, Guria Beachwear, Mare Blu, Sauipe Swimwear, Lybethras and Sol & Energia at Swim Collective, and Cajubrasil, Vestem and Bia Brazil at Active Collective.
Together, they sold USD 233,000, with USD 1.467 million expected over the next 12 months. According to the managing partner at Guria Beachwear, which was at Swim Collective for the third time, the result was very positive. “We got new customers and have already received orders from old customers, with more orders expected,” says Camila Ckless.
For Thamires Araujo, an export analyst at Vestem, which was at Active Collective, the results achieved far surpassed expectations: “we had a great participation; we couldn’t have expected a better result. We got great contacts and orders, we’re very excited,” she says. She adds that the company already has plans to include the show on next year’s agenda. “We will surely be back,” she says.
